If Zam means Zamora, yes I'm still with ya's. I made another drop in dose last friday. Felt clammy and a tad weak other than that doing very well. There was a point that I felt like running for a neelde but I didn't. I just kept telling myself that I didn't need to do that to myself anymore. That I'm to be stronger this time round and stick to my program. In time that feeling passed and I feel good for not caving into it. Things are good. Work is busy with all the interviews we're doing with other drug user's. We are surprized with the amount of younger user's that don't know they could get hep c by passing a crack pipe around. So many we interviewed hadn't even been checked for HIV or Hep C.
I think we'll find after this little research program we're doing that we'll need more education in the rual areas and sattle light needle ex changes through out the area in the north where I'm from.
We're also trying to get something together to show the vast barrier's that those on methadone face. And why there's a need for a push on other forms of treatments providing an opiate other than methadone.
I love this site.
If it was me you were asking for thanks. Hope all is well for you.
Zamora of course i was talking to you. Wow Thats good about your drop you took. I see here alot that some say to go slow, and you will have better luck with succeeding. I hate to hear that you had those cravings they are real scary, but aint you glad you didnt give into the craving? I am. I hope they go away for good, but if they do come back just do the same thing you did this time. Just say no. Thats what i plan on when i jump. Just not touching any opiates. I hope. Good luck its good to see you are still here. Pam
It's really good to see such support. I feels good to come to a place where others understand what's up.
The craving's are still there but I do manage to stay with the program. I'm thinking about making a major drop next week. Just thinking about it. As you mentioned, some people say to go slow and I really agree with that but sometimes I just want to be done and over with it all. I know that if I make a big drop next week I could put myself at risk and end up doing something that I shouldn't do so that's why I'm just thinking about it. I'm not getting much sleep these past few nights. When I don't have to work I'll try and sleep durging the day so I get some sleep. I feel so excited and at the same time scared. You would think after all these years I'd realize that the fear is something that could get in the way, that things will be ok really if I just stick to it as planed.
I hope you're daay is going well. You mentioned you're going to make a jump. How is it all going for you. Are you jumping from down from morphine or methadone? How long have you been trying to tapper now? Pam thanks so much for your replying. It's nice to be able to talk with someone. You seem like a very nice persoon.
Hi Rosy, Pam, Zamora, Arlene, Christy and everyone else reading, a hearty hello.
What a beautiful time of year, Autumn, time to get healthy and stay that way. If I can get out for a brisk walk or bike ride everyday that would be the best.
ANYONE TAKING A DROP IN METHADONE needs to try the Sodium Ascorbate as it has really helped me everytime I take a drop.
Now that I have used Sodium Ascorbate I would not ever attempt a drop without it.
Also, exercise while you are dropping,
I tried a drop once without exercising and it was waaaaaaaay more difficult,
doing both the Sodium Ascorbate AND exercising is important.
I take the SA the night before a drop and then use it for four days altogether and you do not notice the drop, unless of course it is huge or something.
Sodium Ascorbate really helps, give it a try, you can buy it from a Compounding Pharmacy,
it is a powdered and buffered form of Vitamin C. Start with 4 grams. Your body will build up a toleramce to it and it will take more and more before the runs start.
You are going to get the runs anyway, stopping opiate use, at least this way you can control it.
I use some Slippery Elm which works like a charm and even tastes good and is nutritious.
I am here to help anyone. I am not here everyday, so if you would like a quicker reply here is my email address: < carleensclan@yahoo.ca >
