She said "I know what it's like to be dead.
I know what it is to be sad"
And she's making me feel like I've never been born.

I said "Who put all those things in your head?
Things that make me feel that I'm mad
And you're making me feel like I've never been born."

She said "you don't understand what I said"
I said "No, no, no, you're wrong"
When I was a boy everything was right
Everything was right

I said "Even though you know what you know
I know that I'm ready to leave
'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been born."

She said "you don't understand what I said"
I said "No, no, no, you're wrong"
When I was a boy everything was right
Everything was right

I said "Even though you know what you know
I know that I'm ready to leave
'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been born."

She said , she said "I know what it's like to be dead"
("I know what it's like to be dead")

I know what it is to be sad...

(holy sh!t...this could be the only song ever written in the history of music and i'd be FINE with that....)

One of my favorite songs to have played on stage buddy...

That and Van Halen's "Little Guitars" ("Seniorita I'm in trouble again and I can't break free")

And Zep's "Ramble On"

And "Possum Kingdom by The Toadies

I'll stop now....LOL.

John

OK, double whammy for me today ... We always talk about the healing powers of music... How about when you listen to an album like Revolver, and play the same two songs over and over and one tears ya apart and the other makes it better ??? OK, what the HELL is Kenny yammering about NOW ???

Just something that hit a little close to home this morning driving ... Anyone who has ever been in a "long distance" relationship, be it physical or digital (they both count) can surely relate to the first song below ... The second song kind of vindicated for me, the raw emotion stirred up by the first ... kind of a HA HA, you lost after-all feeling ??!!!

On a more "technical" note, I think the first song is Paul at his very best, lyrically and vocally ..

The second song is a classic John "in your face, kiss my ***" song .. The guitar and vocal harmonies are also among the best of the best IMO .....

<center>(<s>Lennon</s>/McCartney)

To lead a better life I need my love to be here...

Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with the wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there

There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

I will be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere(Lennon/McCartney)

To lead a better life I need my love to be here...

Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with the wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there

There, running my hands through her hair

(Lennon/<s>McCartney</s>)

You tell me that you've got everything you want
And your bird can sing
But you don't get me, you don't get me

You say you've seen Seven Wonders and your bird is green
But you can't see me, you can't see me

When your prized possessions start to wear you down
Look in my direction, I'll be round, I'll be round

When your bird is broken will it bring you down
You may be awoken, I'll be round, I'll be round

You tell me that you've heard every sound there is
And your bird can swim
But you can't hear me, you can't hear me

Speaking of Paul, I just heard this on Sirius and remembered he actually DID write some good stuff ... This is by far my favorite Paul post Beatle song ..

<center>PAUL MCCARTNEY

"Maybe I'm Amazed"

baby, i'm amazed at the way you love me all the time,
and maybe i'm afraid of the way i leave you.

maybe i'm amazed at the way you pulled me out of time,
you hung me on the line.
maybe i'm amazed at the way i really need you.

baby, i'm a man, maybe i'm a lonely man
who's in the middle of something
that he doesn't really understand.

baby, i'm a man,
and maybe you're the only woman who could ever help me.
baby, won't you help me to understand?
ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh.

oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh.

baby, i'm a man, maybe i'm a lonely man
who's in the middle of something
that he doesn't really understand.

baby, i'm a man,
and maybe you're the only woman who could ever help me.
baby, won't you help me to understand?
ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh.

maybe i'm amazed at the way you're with me all the time,
maybe i'm afraid of the way leave you.

maybe i'm amazed at the way you help me sing my song,
right me when i'm wrong-
maybe i'm amazed at the way i really need you.

I was a big weeping ball of woosdom at the McCartney concert in Milwaukee this past Oct. He was so good, it was really moving, I am SO glad I went. AC/DC and The Beatles have always been my favorite groups, odd combo I know, but dats da fact jack.

OK...no mushy one today Luv ... here's a cool song off Rubber Soul .... love the way John comes in with the harmony vocals ....

<center>Lennon/McCartney)

I'm looking through you, where did you go?
I thought I knew you, what did I know?
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Your lips are moving, I cannot hear
Your voice is soothing, but the words aren't clear
You don't sound different, I've learned the game
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight

You're thinking of me, the same old way
You were above me, but not today
The only difference is you're down there
I'm looking through you, and you're nowhere

Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight

I'm looking through you, where did you go
I thought I knew you, what did I know
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Yeah
Oh baby I'm changed
Ah I'm looking through you
Yeah I'm looking through you

Kenny -- That is probably my all-time favorite ... I love the way he screams "YOU'RE NOT THE SAME ..." at the end.

I love this thread. It brings back so many memories ... I listened to the Beatles obsessively all through college, '91-'95 ...
