I've been looking at all of your story's for the past 3 years now wanting to get off subutex. Now I'm almost 2 months into being off of them and it's time to talk about it.. My situation is probably the worst case senerio I've been snorting subutex for five years now and the past 3 years I've been drinking heavily on them. Only the past two years I actually had a prescription of 16 mil a day. BAD NEWS. now I had a good motivation to get off of them my kids depended on it... I'll leave it at that.... So I lost my job and my car and took my ass to inpatient rehab. The booze wasnt a big thing to come off for me mabye 1 day of tremors. So I'm like damn this will be easy. So I thought, day 3 is when I started to feel not so great day 4 was worse up untill mabye day 7 I was in hell. Quiting 16 mil of sub hurts!!!! So I delt with it as best I could untill day 12. I walked right out of the rehab and didn't look back. BUT! I didn't give up so I started drinking again to make me pass out and sleep just to not feel the pain. Not the best idea honestly I don't advise it. So now it's been 30 days and I'm still in agoney my mother stopped bye my house to check on me and I was laid out on the floor from a horrible hang over and withdraw the EMTs came and took me to the hospital after some motrin and two IVs hang over was gone but I still was in agony ID given up!!! Untill the doctor gave me gabapenton and colonedine OMG! That stuff helped alot the withdrawal was still there but it was very bearable. Now it's almost two month I'm sleeping mabye 3 or 4 hours a night and I'm starting to get my energy back now and the light is finally at the end of the tunnel I still have slight RSL but it's not to bad also I'm taking trazadone to sleep some days it helps a little. But I couldn't feel better about not having to take another sub to get up and start my day. Also something I found helpful with some of the withdrawal believe it or not was reading. Yes I said reading mabye threee weeks in I was actually reading all your story's on my porch hating life. And the more I focused my mind to reading the less my legs hurt it actually completely stopped. But you can't read forever and it beats running who wants to go for a run when you can't even get out of bed to shit! Hope this helps ANYONE in there recovery there is a better life for all of us out there. You gotta want it and focus and definitely get a sponsor and go to meetings there stories alone will inspire you to go just one more day.

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm sorry you had such a rough time, as you know that sub can be wicked to come off after using long term. Keep us updated on your progress!

Thank you everyone I'm still off the subutex and I'm finally at 100percent it's been almost three months and outpatient classes and NA have done me real good for support. It was a horrible two months but it was worth it. I got a job and my car back on the road and saving money finally life is good.
