Since I'm the one who wiped out the board, I guess I can help get things started by asking those who recently posted to please re-post?

Ok here it is: I first got into drugs when I was a teen, and then it finally brought me to my knees when I was 30 ( cocaine and alcohol). I stayed clean for 7 years and then relapsed in 1997 on pain meds prescribed for several diff. knee surgeries...I got clean again in 1999 after several attempts ( in and out of detoxes ) and stayed clean until this Oct.27th when I ordered vicodin online...why? who knows? I am about to finish my student teaching ...something I started way back in 1996 before the big relapse and now that I am close to getting my credential I am screwing up again. I talked to my doctor in Toronto, who treated me while I was up there getting clean. My brother dragged me out of Calif..in 1998 when the whole world was falling down around me. I mean it was bad![xx(]
So now I find myself, once again, fighting the demon disease. I just can't take it anymore...how many times have I said that...do I mean it this time, or should I just put a gun to my head.
Anyways that's what brought me to this forum...I was looking for a safe detox and from what I've read in replies it seems that suboxone is the way to go. Now I'm just waiting for monday to call docotrs to see if they can help me ...I have about ten names from the list, but I understand they limit their patient quota to 10...so it might be really hard. I'm praying for a miracle. I don't know whether I should just stay hooked for the next 3 weeks ( at the tune of 400-500- a week) or try and get a jump start on this...I don't think I can wait any longer. Now is the time, or I'll just get sicker and sicker. Plus everything is coming to a big peak, I'll be drug tested for my credential and I have a HUGE family reunion that I'm running at the end of January...and these are the brothers and sisters that saved my life the last time and sure as heck don't want to hear relapse again.
The only person I've talked to about this is my doctor in Toronto...i've been stewing about it all weekend...I have to work at my part-time job tomorrow but I think I'll call in cause I have to get a handle on this...I would love if someone on this forum was from North San Diego County...it sure would help knowing someone close by...I have aa but just lack the guts to go and fess up right now. I'm rambling now, but you asked, and there you have it. I'm so glad I found this website...it's helped a lot...especially sleepless and kim.
    Thanks you guys,

Curious about something...when you order RX drugs online...is it true that you don't need a prescription? How can that happen in this country of all places?! With all of our strict FDA, DEA, ETC I just don't get it.

You have it wrong about docs only being able to take 10 patients. They are allowed up to 30 patients at a time.

Don't get discouraged about that list of docs. Many of them don't RX Sub yet or are on there by mistake. A methadone clinic could maybe tell you where to call also.

You can drop clean after 3 days so as long as you can get 3 days behind you ....you will do fine for your drug test. Suboxone doesn't show up as an opiate in a drug test, neither does Ultram. I have heard of docs using Ultram to help with detoxes. It's cheaper but it's not as effective as Sub. With Sub, you can keep on with your daily routines with little discomfort.

You have a great attitude by saying NOW IS THE TIME. You are so right about that. Try not to get discouraged, just keep calling, and keep checking this board. Maybe you should start a new topic with your city in the title to draw attention to it. There's GOT to be someone who knows of some docs in your area.

Hi I'm still trying to figure this posting thing out. Thanks for your replies. Yes I did order them online and got them...some were a hassle but most weren't ...although the fda has shut a lot of them down. Anyways and then I would just go to T.J.(mexico) to get some as well. I want to know how to change my topic so that I can do as spring suggested by drawing attention to my city...North San Diego County...Oceanside. I really need everyone's prayers for tomorrow cause that's when I'll be calling the is of doctors...god ihope, ihope, ihope:).
I;m glad that sub doesn't show up in drug test. Are you totally sure on that? And what do you mean I can drop clean after 3 days...not sure what you meant. Could you clarify.
To Rikaard...yeh I talked to family in Toronto today and they said it was warm...it's nice to be here but I really think it messed up my sobriety ...I had a great group in aa there and was doing so well. I was doing well here too, until i discovered vicodin online...I coulnd't resist trying one more time. and now I'm back waaaay back at the beginning...the only hope I have is it's only been 2 months and all the encouragment I get from this forum. It really helps. It's just like aa but even more anonymous. Thanks, thanks thanks for your replies...:)

What I meant by droppping clean in 3 days is IF you stayed off Vicoden for 3 days. Had nothing to do with Sub at all. Until they develop a test for it..you will drop "clean" while on Sub...yep! 100% sure of that.

I have an appointment tomorrow with a doctor in Del Mar...but I can't drop clean for 3 days off of vicodin. I have to work tonight. I just won't be able to function. Would it be better to start the sub after 3 days ( which I know will kill me) or can I start it after 12-14 hours into withdrawal as has been suggested? I am off from Thurs-Sun this week but i really want to get a jump start on this tomorrrow...please advise. I have to work mon, tues, wed.

For the record, (again--sorry to those who've read this but I think it's pertinent), I took fifteen 10mg hydros (norco) on SAME DAY of evening I took 16mgs sub, WITH NO ILL EFFECTS. The main reason I would think one might want to be withdrawing first is to keep your sub amount to a minimum--that is, taking only what is necessary to get you out of the weeds...

How are you doing now? I'm feeling so depressed about the whole process. I'm praying for a miracle. Are you clean now and how long were you on the norcos for?

No, I think you misunderstood me. I didnt mean that you had to be able to drop clean BEFORE you start the Sub. I think if we could do that we wouldn't need the Sub!!:)

I thought you said you had to drop clean for someone so I was just telling you it took 3 days to get the pills out of your system is all.

You can take the Sub as soon as you start feeling any of the W/Ds. you don't HAVE to wait til you're in full W/D but the sicker you are, the better it works. Some people can take it the same day and not get sick. It's most often suggested to wait 12 to 24 hours after last use.

Please keep us posted as to how you're doing/feeling with the Sub.

Jeffie, Are you saying you took the norco's AFTER the Sub? Or before? Taking Sub shortly after opiates can put you into immediate w/d. On the other hand.. taking opiates AFTER Sub wont cause w/d. The Sub will block the high though.

Spring, I ordered online quite a bit... It is a loophole in the law. For one, hydrocodone mixed with apap is DEA Schedule III, meaning it can be called in, no verification, etc, whereas oxy is Sch II, meaning a duplicate prescription is required and cannot be phoned-in. Most online pharmacies are based out of southern Florida (why? I haven't figured that one out yet). Basically, what happens, is a doctor reviews your medical information and sometimes records if required... This is nothing but a spinoff of "telemedicine". If the doctor feels a prescription is warranted, he'll approve it and forward the request to the pharmacy who then ships it right to your door - sometimes the whole process is 24hrs or less. They can dispense almost anything except Schedule IIs. Basically, in other words, here's what happens: You pay a huge fee like $75 to a doctor who reads your info on his computer screen and clicks either approve or deny. The script is then printed out at a pharmacy or warehouse where it is filled and shipped. The DEA is shutting many of these down, but there are quite a few that still remain. This *can* be a good thing. For example, someone who wants to detox can order some clonidines and/or klonopins online without having the embarassment of seeing a doctor. The problem is that certain medications are not for anyone or everyone, so it is definitely a good idea to talk to someone experienced with medications before taking *anything*. Most don't sell anything strong like hydro. bestlittlerx.com is where the clonidine and k-pins are available. Stay *away* from the Ultram! The downside is that so many people are feeding their addictions and even adding fuel to the fire this way because of the availability. I know I did...
