Quick update: We made our first appearance at court yesterday and his next hearing date was set. They ordered pre-trial screening and testing and while filing out the paperwork for that, he went into seizure. That made the decision about a detox center easy. After spending most of the day in the ER, he was admitted to the hospital's detox center. (It is actually not part of the hospital but is located in their facility.) He had six seizures total during the nine hours he was in the ER. After going to the center, he has had one more, about 4 am. I can't remember right now what drugs they have him on, but we insisted that they not use Methodone. I read of too many bad experiences with that and we didn't want any part of that type of thing.
I'm only home for a few minutes to gather up a bag of his personal stuff to take back to the hospital/center. If any of you have suggestions or things we should or should not do at this time, I'm all ears--actually eyes but that's not the old saying.
Again, thank you for your help thus far and we will keep checking in and updating his progress.
