Hi I am sending you a link. I read about it and sounds really neat. You can decipher what they are saying in this article. Also next post I will send you a link to a liver failure forum where these ppl are awesome and you should get some reallt great advice. Heres the link... BTW my husband woulda given his right arm to not have to do his biopsy and do it this way instead...Me too as I was in the room with him and distracted him when the biopsy needle came out aka the claw. He was so numb however from the 5-10 shots of novacaine theypushed into the mid chest where it sucks in I forgot what u call that spot. They had to do his there due to medical issues and surgery wires from prior heart valve transplant surgeries. My bro had a liverbiopsy and he had his in between his ribs and was in much much more pain afterwards than my husband though due to soreness. This device sounds really promising.

Hi!!! I am so sorry it took me so very long to respond but here I am. Lemme see here. My husband and my brother both had liver biopsies with 2 different experiences. First off I went in with my hubby and he had NO pain meds. Now as stated earlier he had his in a weird spot guided thru ultrasound due to surgical wires from previous open heart surgeries.(tricuspid valve transplants due to endocarditis thru IV drug use) They did his through his solarplex. They gave him around 10-15 injections of novacaine thru their going deeper with each shot. Obviously the first hurt the worst(but he just told me it wasn't so bad and gauging from his reaction at the time it wasn't so bad. Then when they took out what we affectionately have termed "the CLAW" to clamp a piece of liver tissue, he did jump when the noise happened. It wasn't so bad he just said. The noise was worse than the actual clip of his liver. Now my brother was sore for a couple weeks after his my husband was not. I drove him home from the city of hope after his . His was done thru his side and thru his ribs Now the drive home with him was hairy as his ribs and side were extremely sore they did give him pain meds and valium prior and after gave him a few pain meds. He was just sore as all get out and would get tears in his eyes on the ride home with any bumps in the road. He was definately hurting and I felt so bad. If you have someone with a smooth riding car would suggest using their help with a ride home afterwards. They make you lie on a gurney for a few hrs after the procedure. Good luck lemme know when it is. K??? (((HUGS))) Steff
