    Opiateslave,

Yeah opiates and coke are completely different in terms of the withdrawl....If you are down doing crack chances are the only real side effect you will have could be a severe sense of depression...At least thats what happened to me when I was on Sub and smoked crack...

    Good Luck to you...

i was wondering if someone could answer this question.

My hubby has been on sub for 3 wks now and still uses coke and drinks heavy at times.

when i think he is in a withdrawl state he sleeps for three days straight.
    is this a possiblity
he will drink maybe 6-10 beers and a half of a fifth of vodka, whether he does the coke or not with this im not sure but have a pretty good idea that he does, when he goes to sleep after doing this he sleeps for three days and does nothing in those three days.
can someone give me some advice?

    Run ???

Seriously, if he's doing coke and drinking THAT much he's pulled the basic switch from one drug of choice to another, no ???

I can see why he'd sleep for 3 days after drinking 6 to10 beers and a half a bottle of vodka, that's a pretty hefty amount of alcohol ...

Not sure what kind of advice your seeking ?? He obviously needs to slow way down at the very least...

    all the best,

could he not be taking his sub?
well he hs always from what i understand done the coke and the say past 2 years added the oc( now on sub for it)
so now he is drinking on top of that. i guess my question is that is he going through some type of withdrawl from this or is it just i don't know what
syas he what to be a better person and be a father and a husband but im so confused. he has his mother believing what he does is because he has a severe case of sleep apnea, go figure that

he is very lehtargic and his throat is very very sore. he sweats really bad at times so like i said before is it withdrawl or am i just so confused a this point?

    Loriesue,

If he TRULY wants to be a better Dad and Husband .. he needs to stop abusing the crap out of ALL substances... The coke and the booze w/ or w/o the sub is not a very valiant effort IMHO ...

That being said, sub can make you sweat and coke does for sure ... throw sleep apnea in the mix and you may very well find him cold and blue one morning ...

Not trying to scare you but that's the reality sweetie ....

he went to his doc yesterday and they say that he wasn't doing anything but the drinking in which he has slept for three days which may have very well be detoxed from the coke (am i right or wrong). Not only that his testesterone
level was way way way low, the doc told him that is one reason for the sleeping and irriblity said once that get to were it should and he wears his mask for the sleep apnea he should be on his way.
not only that he is on ad too and he has big issues with his dad (from what he has told me) plus his mother just said to me has a long on his mind (which this scares me and this is just me but i am thinking they are about me ( he has lied so bad tohis parents god only knows what was said about.

Long term opiate use lowers testosterone (from what I've read). Just FYI.

I hope your husband gets some help. It sounds like he is on the fast track to nowhere. I feel for you.

Try to take care of yourself. You can't control him, only what you do.

I had gone out and he had told me he would be home when he when i got there, never the less he wasn't i was home at 10:00pm and he rolled in about 3:00am. This started a whole argument and then the brother came over the mother was on speaker phone and one thing led to another----here we found out he is still using and using about everthing. So from that point till i left yesterday morning at 4:00am he has been sleeping all day saturday and all sunday. Will it ever stop?

    Hey there, Cheech

I had a crazy-*** addiction to Oxy for 3 years, and I used Suboxone, sublingualy, for a few months. It did absolutely nothing for the opiate fiend, if Suboxone was in my body. It was like, the minute that the Suboxone was used-up by my body, then the fiend for more of the drug was back. Well, I snorted the stuff so my NOSE had the addiction. Therefor, if I put the Suboxone under my tongue; didn't do anything in the long-haul. So, after putting it under my tongue for a few months, I thought to myself; my NOSE has the addiction if I snorted the Oxy. Well, my prescription for Suboxone was all used up and I only had 1/2 of a pill left. So, I snorted that *****. I sh*t-you-not, it took away ALL fiend for the drug and I didn't hurt at all, anymore. I hope that I could help you, and good luck with the recovery. Trust me on this, cuz I cleaned up a CRAZY-*** Cocaine addiction by SNORTING my Detox drug. I can use whenever I want because if the addiction comes back, I know how to fix it and I do it all the time :-) Good luck, Man, and Godspeed!

Yours is an interesting post Justin. I know where you are coming from. It seems that we can often become "addicted" to the rituals and behaviors that surround using drugs. I think I was addicted to the needle itself as well as heroin. I dreamed about needles for a couples years after I stopped heroin.

Maybe you are "addicted" or get some sort of reward like feeling just from the act of crushing up pills and snorting them? I have a friend like this. He can't go more than a couple of hours without snorting something. It is kind of gross as now he has a deviated septum and some necrosis in the sinus cavities. He may never breathe correctly or smell again. What we do to ourselves!

You said you cleaned up a cocaine addiction by snorting Suboxone? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense as Suboxone is used to treat opiate addiction. Anyway, having a belief that snorting something is cleaning up or fixing another addiction is kind of backward thinking IMO. To me it sounds more like a continuation of addictive and abusing behavior.

Good luck with whatever you are looking for.
