Talking starting a new thread to share some things

I'm sooo excited. I shared a few weeks ago that my boyfriend and I have been looking to buy an apartment in the city. We went looking and saw another nine or ten apartments today... and I found the one I want and I'm so excited! But nervous! Because it is a little bit out of our price range so we're going to have to make an offer and see what happens. But eeek it is perfect. And I think they might be willing to negotiate because it has been on the market for over a month and, well, it's just so freaking rad. Right in the middle of the upper west side, one block from Central Park. (I KNOW!!) Beautiful apartment, needs no renovations. Ready for us to move in. Has everything we are looking for. EEEK WISH ME LUCK!!!

Happy Super Bowl!

My dear A,

It is sooooo good to see you, and I am glad that you are starting a new thread. You were the first person I looed for when I came back to ODR, and it took me a while to find your old thread. I've seen some of your posts lately, and was so happy to see that you were back.

You sound really good, really good, and I am so happy for you. I hope you get this apartment you are so excited about. You deserve it. You are such an inspiration to me an so many others here.

I am doing okay, struggled for a while again, but the last couple of months have been good. Just got sick and tired of being sick and tired, as the saying goes. This time I'm doing things differently and have an awesome support system, which has made a huge difference, surprise, surprise! My way just was not working.
I am still teaching, and loving it more than ever!

So, just wanted to say hello, and welcome you back. I still have not started my own thread yet, may soon!

Penny

New thread, new beginnings. Wow good for you! Liny is so right if it is meant to be it will be. I figure you keep doing the next right thing, then everything falls into place. So good luck, and that half time for super bowl was awesome! Have not seen Roger Daltry since 1976, wow! Behind blue eyes! Love that song!

So best to you!
New life,
AWESOME!
love annie

nope...i don't think they did.

they did a bit of Tommy
a bit of 'who are you'
a bit more of Tommy
Baba o'reilly
don't get fooled again.

Joshua Tree reminds me of early sobriety. First time I got clean in Feb of 1990. I used to put that on my walkman (yes, walkman) and run everyday. there is a soundtrack to every event/place in my life. in Tokyo...it was the Sex Pistols. in Paris....Talking Heads
(always intermixed with the Grateful Dead undercurrent. never went anywhere without the Dead).

Thumbs up Re: starting a new thread to share some things

^ Talking Heads, one of my fave bands. best mainstream rock of their era.

"....there's a party in my mind / and i hope it never stops
i'm stuck here in this seat / i might not stand up

other people can go home / everyone else will split
i'll be here all the time / i can never quit..."

OMW-- congratulations re: apartment. you sound really happy!

Good Luck on your new apt.. any news on it? Whenever I go to NYC we rent an apt. So it's like we are part of it... I love it! Some wild stories from those apt buildings!

Talking Heads is one of my very favorite.... I play then when I happy , sad, wanna clean..

I had a life size poster of Roger Daultry on my wall growing up.. shirt off and jeans button undone... wish I had it now... it's probably worth a fortune! We just saw them a few years ago in Detroit.. now quite the same as the 80's but better than the concert in Cinci... My son has my Tommy album on his wall.. so funny to see

thank you so much everyone!!! and yes, the who was awesome!! those dudes can ****ing rock. i saw them in concert a few years ago, right after john entwistle died.

things with the apartment are going well but i don't have any news quite yet. my boyfriend's parents drove up from philly to check out the two choices, and he went with them tonight. then he called me and said it went well, but that was about it because he had to run, so i have to wait until later to get the details. but from what i gathered, he's figuring out exactly what we can offer. FINGERS CROSSED! we can't offer what they are asking, but people don't usually expect to get what they were asking anyway, so... eek! nervous! but i TOTALLY know what you mean lisa: if it was meant to happen, it will happen.

i just hope it is meant to happen! hehe.

hi! thanks for asking, g. well.... we're still looking. every time i think we've found the place... we haven't. but we're going again friday after work so hopefully something will eventually working out.

i started my class tonight. last semester was the first time i took a class since i started working, because my company pays for related classes after we are employed for a full year. last semester my class was AMAZING so i had really high hopes. my class tonight was good, but not amazing, but still fun and insightful and i'm super glad to be doing it.

i'm helping edit a wonderful book! it's the sequel to a newbery honor book from about ten years ago and the author is just incredible, has such a beautiful voice, and i loved the manuscript from the word go. and the editor i have been assisting was assigned it, so i'm doing a second edit... so fun. i've only worked on manuscripts before that have started, well, in a bad place, so then we work on them to make them better. this one is fantastic... so we can help make is superb! i love that aspect of my job.
