but the problem im finding iwith the list s that when i call the numbers i get some receptionist who has no idea what im talking about..so i ask to talk w the dr but im refused cause im not a patient! I gotta pay him to simply ask?! I read on another board that some docs are taking the training and then just putting the certificate on the wall without actually taking in any clients! Ive been told by one that they will not take cash paying clients. another one is a methadone clinic and from what i could figure you have to jump through all these hoops to get on and they are pretty much following the same protocol as MMT. Huh? One guy said he had no intentions of prescribing! I emailed SAMSHA and they took him off the list. They want me to send them the names and #'s of the drs im having problems with so Im going to try again Monday and send the results to SAMSHA.

I have another referral for detox from opiates with Burenorphine Certified and Recognized By American Associaton of Addiction who were the pioneers in Broward County, Advanced Medical - Center for Detoxification. Great place, all certified MDs, outpatient and acute detox is complete for an intial fee of $150 plus the subutex and/or suboxone you need for the week. What is neat is that they have on staff a licensed psychiatric provider that also meets the psycho-social part of the program that is required as part of the outpatient detoxification program. To think that you can be completely detoxed for generally 250.00. I think that the staff also attends Harvard/Mass Generals Psycho-Pharmacology Lecture series the past 7 years. What a wealth of caring professionals located on one nice office.
Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Advanced Medical?? I thought they got busted ... Your post looks like an advertisement for them not a recommendation.
Search Advanced Medical here .. not a lot of positive posts.... more like a place to get you strung out on their drugs and to make them big money. Older posts here were not favorable, exposed the lies, and had the text of Michaels arrest posted for all to see.
All certified MD's ... Like Michael Halprin? I guess then I'm a MD too.
You sound affiliated with them IMHO

WILTON MANORS
AROUND BROWARD COUNTY
Clinic director nabbed
trading for marijuana
Broward Sheriff's Office detectives arrested the medical director of a Wilton Manors pain clinic after he traded prescription drugs for marijuana in an undercover sting operation Thursday night, according to the sheriff's office.
Michael Halprin, 52, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, was arrested at the Advanced Medical Center for Pain Relief, BSO said.
Several weeks ago, BSO Strategic Investigations Division detectives learned Halprin was illegally dispensing drugs through the clinic. They launched an investigation in cooperation with Wilton Manors police, Hollywood police and the Florida Department of Health, according to BSO.
Thursday night, an undercover detective arranged to trade two ounces of marijuana for 100 Oxycodone tablets and 100 Xanax pills. After Halprin swapped the prescription drugs for the pot he was arrested, BSO said.
Halprin was charged with Trafficking in Oxycodone, Delivery of Alprazolam and Purchasing Cannabis and was booked at BSO's jail and held on $502,000 bond, according to BSO.

MY DR IS GREAT. HIS NAME IS DR. RICHARD PITTS. FIRST VISIT IS ONLY 100, EACH SUBSEQUENT VISIT IS ONLY 50 BUCKS. YOU WILL NEED TO SEE HIM INITIALLY EVERY TWO WEEKS FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO. THEN IT WILL BE ONCE A MONTH. ALSO ON YOUR FIRST VISIT HE GIVES YOU YOUR SUBOXONE RIGHT THERE TO START YOU OFF. HE GAVE ME ENOUGH FOR 7 DAYS (BASICALLY TILL MY NEXT VISIT) AND THE SUBOXONE HE GAVE ME IN HIS OFFICE WAS FREE. THE ONLY INCONVENIENCE IS THAT YOU NEED TO GO TO A LAB FOR THE UA'S. BUT THERE IS A LAB NEARBY. DR. PITTS IS A VERY CARING VERY FLEXIBLE AND AFFORDABLE DOCTOR. HE ACCEPTS MEDICAID AND MOST OTHER INSURANCE. HE WILL WORK WITH YOU ON YOUR DOSES AS WELL, HE DOESNT GIVE YOU A HARD TIME IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO INCREASE YOUR DOSE. ALSO HE WILL ALLOW YOU TO USE SUBOXONE AS A MAINTENANCE THERAPY AS WELL AS A DETOX. HIS ADDRESS IS 377 SOUTH HARRISON STREET, SUITE 1N, EAST ORANGE, NJ. HIS PHONE NUMBER IS 973-673-8686. MOST TIMES YOU WILL GET AN ANSWER MACHINE, JUST LEAVE YOUR NAME AND PHONE # HE WILL GET BACK TO YOU. <>< PEACE

HI All:
This is Michael, South Florida taking BUP for 4 months now,
a particularly stressful time in my life, divorce, etc.
I mention that because the date of the divorce trial is set for Sept 27, when hopefully all will be over with. I have a 13 year old boy who is my heart that not seeing is hurting bad.
I'd like to stay at 4mg twice a day as I have been taking and start to wean down after this murderoustime passes, because I don't think I can hack it doin the wean and this other thing together. It's about another month.
I am looking for a really good Bup doctor. I do not want to go on the suboxone which has the Nalexone (narcan I think, because the manufacturer Reckitt and Benckiser an English Co., say that if you suffer from depression or biploar or manic etc., the part Naloxone should be stayed away from. It will far worsen anybody's depression exponentially, I was one. I'm not a doc., but look it up @ www.crazymeds.org/buprenex.html. The first third of the Buprenex page when it goes into Suboxone.
Any way, I have read about a Dr. Israel Rabinsky MD being a fine dr. that does work with, whom I was able to at least get an answering machine from.
The other was a suggestion from here of a Dr. Deluca who seems not to be in practice anymore.
I really need a good BUP Dr. in southen palmbeach county. Boynton,Delray Boca Raton, maybe Pompano. I do not want to travel past west palm to the north if necessary.
Please somebody suggest doctors to me who aren't really expensive, maybe I could see them every 2 weeks and get my Buprenex 4Mg every two weeks or so about $160 orles.
I pay the Dr. $100 every two weeks, but is is quite a ride now that I live in Boynton-Delray. Anybody who knows a good doc, time is of the essence for me if you know what I mean and hope to see someone in a few days? Thanks, Michael

I am a psychiatrist with the VA who was trained by Dr Charles Engle in Wisconsin. He is a lot more knowlegable than the first impression of the earlier poster. He is as smart as they come, and a lifelong student of addictions. Unlike most doctors, he (me too, for that matter), take interest in the person and their recovery, and do some therapy, not just write the scripts. His practice also treats a lot of doctors, nurses, pharmicists, etc who need their sobriety verified for the licensing boards. He is known for quality and credibility.
PS I don't have any affiliations other than as I said above.

There is one on the locator named Shaikh sp?? in Falls Church, never been but did call once so it should be a good number. Also if you are interested in making a bit of a drive I understand there is a clinic affliated with Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore called the CAM program. Center for Addiction Management. There are some posts under the name of member Afrosonic who used the CAM program. I understand it was a flat fee of $250 last year (plus meds??) if you are interested in going that far. Also just from what I have read the doctor who runs the CAM program is a real authority on Bup. I believe the article about Dr.Hayes was posted in the general forum. Hope this helps.

Hi all I was on this board awhile ago, but forgot my password lol. Anyway I am back and glad to be. Here is a doctor in upstate New York if anyone is looking. His name is Anthony Nappi, he is in Utica, New York. His phone #(315) 725-9992. He answered the phone himself !!! I thought I had a wrong # at first. He was extremely kind and spoke with me for about 20 minutes. He told me to come in Monday, and when I asked if he had any weekend hours he offered to come in on his own time Saturday. Unfortunatley I had car trouble, and was unable to get to him. We spoke again on the phone(20minutes) and just speaking with him made me feel so much better, I am sure I was rambling but he listened patiently and was very reassururing. I will see him Monday and I will let you all
know how he is in person. Wish me luck and its good to be back !!!!
