Does anyone know
How long do opiates stay in the body?
I am sure there are many many factors but I am going to have to take a UA begore I can see my kids and I dont want to until I know I can pass.
I am male, 42, good health, 150lbs. and was taking 12 - 15 vicodon 7.5mg a day.
Any answers or suggestion?

Generally it should be out of your body within 3 days. Opiates (hydrocodones) are short acting. IF you had 3 consecutive(sp)days withOUT, than you should come up clean.

Nope... That is exactly true! Usually 2 days is enough for opiates, esp. short-acting. Hydro half-life is 3.8 hrs, so after 2-3 days, there will be next to nothing in your urine.

Hi Greg, Rodrigo & Crystal are totally right..I just did a lil checking around before posting and 2 to 3 days a short acting opiate will be out of your system...So I'd say if you've gone atleast 2 (but I myself might play it safe and hold out for day 3) you are'nt gonna have any problems what so ever with passing the dreaded pee test and getting to see your kids...Hope you have a blast with them, I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see you

The question is that if you have already gone *3 days*, why take any more at all after you have conquered withdrawls?
