The sub should block the painkillers and you don't have to wait 24 hours to take your next dose of sub. Sub has a higher affinity for the opiate receptors so blocks the other opiates and is already on your receptors so you don't have to be in withdrawal to take your next dose.
what happens if you slip and take some painkillers while on suboxone 8mg twice daily?
a.Are there any physical symtoms oe effects? In my experience, ZIPPO. No buzz, no point. A total waste. Even though you'll feel no effects, the standard caveats and warnings of respiratory depression still apply. It's quite dangerous to attempt to overcome the blocking effects of Sub. I DO know what it's like to be hell-bent on getting high. It's pretty important, IMO, to not begin Sub til you're ready to put your active addiction days behind you.
b.do u have to wait another 24 hours before taking the next Sub dose? No, you don't. Reason being, the Sub has a far greater affinity for our opiate receptors, so in the case of an opiate/opiod on top of Sub....Sub does not get "dislodged". Therefore, you may resume your Sub regimen without waiting. You ARE aware of the waiting period when going from opiate to Sub? (after steady use)
c.Any links to find this information? I recommend using the search function above. If you can more specifically tell us what you're looking for, we can more specifically direct you.
By the way, don't let the addict in you speak in such "niceties"...you didn't slip. You used. We're glad you're here.
