    Hey Eveleivibe,

The question you are asking is impossible to answer in any meaningful way. Everybody is different and the amount of time, dose, physical conditional, life stability, emotional stability, etc. all come into play.

But, going from 8 to 6, you really shouldn't feel much of anything. Sub is so strong and it stays in your body for so long that most folks don't start to feel much until they drop below 2mg.

I think you will probably be OK dropping to 2 fairly quickly and then it is a good idea to slow down and try to keep the cuts to about 10% every 2 or 3 weeks.

Sorry for lack of responses. This forum has about 10,000 visitors for every active member. Much more reading going on than posting right now.

I agree with freakedout. I don't really remember much of any real w/d dropping from the higher doses of Sub.

May I ask, why are you waiting a month+ before you start to taper your dose? Why not start now? What is going to be different in a months time that will make it easier to taper than right now?
8mg/day is actually a pretty high dose of Suboxone.

    Anyway, welcome.

Thank you to both of you. I am waiting because I am in the UK n things are done differently here. We refer / get referred to a local drug n alcohol service. For drug replacement therapy , we have to see the Psychiatrist who specialises in substance misuse n as you have guessed is EXTREMELY busy. We have something called The National Health Service (NHS) which is free but the downfall is the waiting times.

I currently take ONE pill of 8 mg suboxone that is placed under the tongue. The scripts are done on a 2-weekly basis, sent to pharmacy n they have so many printed in advance. I see the doc (psychiatrist) next on Thursday 11 December when I will ask to reduce to 6 mg. i will still on that for a few months due to psychological reasons - I WANT TO RECOVER!!! I've heard so many times that people have FELT FINE, no cravings etc - taper off the suboxone n gone back down into addiction, FAST! Sorry I am not trying to frighten anyone here, presuade anyone onto suboxone or persuade anyone to continue onto suboxone - far from it. I'm simply explaining my plans, concerning my situation n the way things are done in Wales.

Where was I? When I reduce to 6 mg, I do not think that there is a 6mg pill as there is an 8 mg pill. I assume that I will have to take THREE, two mg pills under the tongue - so then I may have more lee way in tapering etc.

    hope that makes sense.
Mi assume that when I am on 2 mg that they will put me on subutex for the remainder on the taper.

Take care of yourselves, everyone n feel free to E-mail (Pm) me anytime,

Well... that's your choice. The longer on it the harder it is to get off. you have enough to wean now with two weeks worth...if nervouse get 4 weeks worth. You can cut right now to 4 and I bet you don't feel anything.. I bet to 2mg and not feel anything. So you can give the power and decision to the md scripting or decide you want to get off now. I read you were addicted to codine... so you already up your annie. BUt your decision, your choice.
That's my advice for what its worth. IF you have psy problems then maybe you should do as your md says... But if your an addict and what addict don't have psy problems your only going to make it harder the longer on it.
Take what you want and ignor the rest

    Ev,
Things are done so differently here in the US, but good on you for wanting to taper. Keep positive and try not to get freaked out about the experiences of others. This is YOUR journey and what happens to some is not necessarily what happens to everyone.

    Quick sidebar ...
Bonita, is English your native language? I (and a few others) have wondered about this. I thought it might explain your numerous grammatical and spelling errors.

ey kate i am the guy of the gramatical and spelling mistakes, dont push this crown away from me thank you : P

@eveleivibe: i dont understand why to give bupre to a codeine addict, because i think the WD from codeine is softer than bupre WD . Anyway, a tappering and leaving as soon as possible sounds resonable to avoid hard WD symptoms, if you are less than a month its a good moment to avoid it without paying too much price

    Bonita,
Look into purchasing "Hooked on Phonics".

You might find it more useful than "Hooked on Dope"

    Just food for thought.

Lmao....I won't bite. There are plenty of other forums that would love to spend time with this kind of crap. If you can't understand my post, don't waste your time reading my post. Pretty simple.
If all you get from my input is frustration, don't read.

El barto....your English is very readable. Not what this is all about. Keep searching my man, keep praying or mediating, do whatever you do for guidance. This is a process. Dosn't happen over night. Be open, be honest. Mainly with self and it will happen for you when your ready.
