Default i get so sick on suboxone! help

i dunno why this is happening. i would go back and forth from heroin to sub without too many problems and now (prob because i'm up to a gram a day) i get precipatated withdrawls the last 3 times i tried sub! it was the worst i have ever experienced to say the least. this last time i waited almost 24 hours but i still got so sick. i don't understand it, before it could be like 12 hours and i am fine.

my problem is my work is staggered meaning i work 1 day next day off work the next. that doesn't give me a lot of time to do this. also, i took like 16 mgs where 8 mgs was too much. i was thinking of staying on dope and try to get down to like $20 a day. then in a week so if it's any better.

    any suggestions?

also, this is my first post, i may have posted in the wrong catagory.

Welcome to ODR Panda. You took too much...too soon. Especially if it's tar.The sub is an effective short term/low dose detox aid. It's a lousy PRN med....and not intended as a bridge between your DOC supply.

The bridge is out.....the direction you take is in the mirror.

If you're wanting to recover, wait till you're in medium to moderate WDs...not a clock thing. Then start with a 2mg dose and wait at least 90 minutes.

There's a sticky on the COWS scale.

Using Sub as a "bridge" drug to fill-in supply gaps is pretty common nowadays. However, it is about as productive as pissing into the wind.

Have you ever considered getting off the opiate merry-go-round? If so you found the right place. If you want advice on the best way to "bridge" supply gaps or the best ways to keep getting high you might find a more knowledgeable crowd at www.bluelight.ru.

i am desperately trying to quit. i was addicted to heroin for on and off since i was 15. for 23 years i tried to quit, 4 years ago i took sub, stayed clean until last year. then this past year. the going back and forth was only due to the fact i get 0 time off. my habit did get up there pretty fast because yes and you wouldn't think a junkie would complain about this, but the stuff was actually too strong so my tolerance went thru the roof. last year, i could take 1-2 mg of sub after 12 hours and i would be fine. this last time (yesterday) i waited 20 hours took 4 mg under the tongue and i waited about a 1/2 an hour to see if i would get precipitated withdrawls, i din't seem to get any worse (or better) so i decided to snort a 2 mg. it was my first and LAST time i will ever do that. someone told me it was better to snort, that you don't have to do as much. within 10 mins i wanted to kill myself.

i don't have a lot of time. the last time i got clean i lost everything, i would love just to out myself and say sorry folks i am off to rehab but this time it isn't possible. i am not looking to feel normal, well, i have never felt completely normal on sub, i am just looking to get off H. i can't go on another 9 yr run.

any method or timetable, advise would be appreciated. next week i actually get 2 days off for the first time in a year so i am looking to quit then. i believe i will have enuff time to wait to take sub, but to be honest, i am terrified to take any, i haven't felt that sick in years!!

thanks for your time and support. only one person knows i am strung out, this forum is my only support so thank you.

The person that suggested you snort the sub is not conducive to any recovery plan. :(..Yours or theirs!

You'll want to plan the detox. Also form a plan with/for the sub...short term..or?

Then forget the clock as far as induction. It's per the COWS scale....a copy in the helpful links/stickies at the top of the forum. If you have 2 days off, here's a suggestion:

Midday/noonish (or earlier)the day B4 is the last DOC dose. Don't even think about taking anything for the rest of the day. You may have a restless/lousy night...so?

In the am pull out the COWS scale...the sticky is posted in a printer friendly fashion. Start hydrating well. Broths and smoothies are good...bananas and fruits are great...grapes help you eat and overcome the nausea thing.

Once you've reached medium/moderate WDs per the COWS scale, cut an 8mg into quarters...you'll need them later. ;) The longer you wait..the better. Then dose 2mg and wait at least 90 minutes...this is the point you can look at the clock again. :o If you're still experiencing about half the troublesome WD issues dose another 2mg. That should be about your saturation (or re-saturation) dose.

Keep that schedule/dose for the first couple of days. The cut the pm dose (no closer then 3-4 hours B4 bedtime) in half. 2 days of that. Then cut the am dose in half...2 days of that. Rinse and repeat....puts you at about a 10-14 day plan.

Default will a heroin junkie feel oxycotin? serious question, trying to quit... help!

so i am transitioning to subutex, but everytime i have tried to go on subutex or suboxone i get really sick. once i even waited 24 hours still precipitated wd's. the dr says they may be cutting the dope with something that even if i am feeling wd's something else might be in the dope that reacts with the sub, so she gave ne some vicodins to transition ans subutex instead of suboxone.

guess who took the vic's already ;-( i went to work my first day on subutex and i was still feeling so shitty that i used. this time i will have 2 days to stabilize i hope.

so, i have to start over again. i am supposed to feel wd's then take a painkiller and wait 12 hrs then take subutex.

i can't go back to my dr and my guy doesn't have vic's so i am getting 1 oxycotin.

my question is, even though i am a junkie, will 1 oxy affect me. i am doing this just so i can get thru work. i don't wanna get high bcuz i need to get on subutex, i just need something that will help me stay on my feet, fight off the wd's for 9 hours but i am afraid it might get me high and i work with people who may notice.

am i being retarded? will a junkie even feel an oxy?

1 is too many and 1000 is never enough.

When do you anticipate inducting with the sub....and at what dose?

I believe that 2mg is too much to suggest. Taking only .5 mg every 90 minutes is less likely to lead to precipitated withdrawal. I experienced precipitated withdrawal from 2mg after coming off of 30mg/day methadone. I didn't mind because it was a new experience, but it's not something that I would want to ever repeat. The key thing is to not give up after a precipitated withdrawal; it will go away.

If you are going to c/t for 1 - 1/2 days anyway before induction, that is almost half-way h c/t so why not go all the way and cut this sub dance around?

Key word being methadone. Big difference....and a lot more 'clock time' required.

Everyone's brain is going to be different when they withdraw, so there's no perfect answer other than don't take more than the 2mg (and additional 2mg every 60-90 minutes after that if necessary) if you want to be conservative. I realize that you have to wait longer after taking methadone; my COWS score and time since last dose were appropriate. I suppose that .5mg is probably too extreme; Panda did say, however, that 1mg was enough in the past. So 1mg and an additional milligram if necessary every 60-90 minutes would probably be a good conservative dose to try. If it's been longer than 24 hours since the last dose and Panda is in very severe withdrawal, then I would agree that 2mg would definitely be the best place to begin.

there is no easy way out man!!!!!!!! you are a junkie and gotta bite the fukin' bullet and either take some vacation time and wait a couple days to start the suboxone or go to IP but suboxone is not a magic wand you are still going to want dope!!!! i would recomend IP you have been doing dope for so long it is gonna be hard to lay down the spike man!!! take yourself out of the day to day for a bit and fix your life go to rehab!!!!!!!!!! there is no easy way off any opiate or synthetic opiate even if you switch to suboxone ( it is way better than doing dope don't get me wrong) you are just gonna have another habit to deal with remember that!!! and coming off subs after a long term use succccckkkkkks!!!! its not as intense as heroin withdrawal but can last for fukin' weeks even months just like methadone !!!! but good luck bro keep ya head up and consider rehab please!!!!!
