    Default Suboxone/Urine Test

    Hello,

I am currently taking suboxone and am supposed to go for a urine test tomorrow for a new job. Can anyone tell me if suboxone will test positive for opiates? I'm thinking it will, but i'd like to know for sure so I can get a note from my doctor before I go for the test.

    Thank You So Much,
    Bob S.

    Hi, Bob--

Someone with more experience will chime in here, but from what I've read in the forum, suboxone does not show up as an opiate on a urine test. I think your doctor would tell you that, too. If you scroll through some of the posts, you'll see where others have asked that question, too.

Some of the other nightowls will be through here soon to give you a definitive answer as well as an explanation.

You're not worried about any other substances testing positive, are you? how long have you been on the sub?

No, I'm noy worried about anything other than the Suboxone. Thanks for the response. I've been on Sub. for about 30 days now, trying to phase it out. Taking 4mg a day.

I've been on the sub for that long as well, currently taking 8mg/day and looking forward to tapering in a couple of weeks.

Well, according to Chet you'll come up clean--which is what I've read here on the forum. Good luck with the new job!

OK, I admit it. I lied. I did a bag tonight. Don't even know why as I knew I wouldn't get high. Knowing full well I have a drug test in the morning. I was gonna use the sub as a cover, but now I guess i'm screwed. Sorry for the deception.
    Thanks for the replies,
    Bob S.

**** happens. You will test positive for the opiates. All you can do is try to reschedule the appt and wait for the opiates to clear your system. What did you do, what kind of opiate?

I twice relapsed on sub, failing to get any benefit from the drug, of course. But at least I got that need out of my system. The important thing is to keep taking your sub--stay on the road to recovery. You've got to give yourself the time and distance to get better. Don't let this slip:) throw you off your path.

Let us know what's happening. And the good thing about this forum is that you don't have to lie because there are no judgments here--only understanding. We've all walked in your shoes and understand that the road to recovery is sometimes 1 step forward, 2 steps back. It's okay.

Suboxone is a synthetic opiate it will not show up as an opiate or on a standard drug test. It can be detected in the urine but not for a job it has to be specically tested for. Same with oxycotin is will not show up as an opiate
