    Default Klonopin & suboxone?

You can mix klonopin & suboxone?

I have a small quantity of klonopin (unsure of mg) here as well as xanax (.25mg). I'm definitely experiencing some anxiety. Only have 6mg of suboxone left until the pharmacy's shipment tomorrow, so I'm trying to hold out. Less is really more?
Should I take one of the 2 anxiety pills?
    I just started detox yesterday.

My understanding is that suboxone and benzos are a dangerous combo. My doc gave me Ambien, but Ambien is not a benzodiazapine. Different receptor.

It is safe to carefully use benzos with suboxone. Just be very careful. They each potentiate each other (like drinking booze with benzos).

I had no problems with 5mg of valium when I needed it when taking subutex (around 8mgs - 4mgs)

Ummm... Although the mechanisms of action between ambien and benzos are different, they both start GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) transmission, which is what produces the relaxing and sleepy effects. The only problem is that taking benzos and sleep aids has been shown to actually slow down and prolong the w/d process. There are not many differences between k-pins, xanaxes, and valiums, so it probably would be ok to take, but be aware that klonopin is said to be much stronger than valium, so take that into consideration... Example: 1/4 of a 2mg clonazepam (k-pin) is as effective as a valium 5. If you are unsure on the strength of a pill, use www.rlist.com/interact.htm and use the Imprint Code Search section and it should be able to cross-reference the writing on the pill to a mfg and strength.

    Again, thanks Rodrigo!

I read on the buprenorphine site which is: http://www.buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/...Curriculum.pdf
that any benzo mixed with suboxone can be deadly.
Are they being overly cautious assuming all 'addicts' will undoubtedly take enough to die??!

I do have a friend who mixed pins with sub and had a nasty reaction and it slowed his breathing big time! BUT I do not know what the dose was that he was taking. ALSO he took a sub pill from someone else and was not stablized so there are a lot of factors. I would be careful.

Anything mixed with anything *can* be deadly... The problem is respiratory depression. Benzos and opiates both depress respiration... The combination of the two if the conditions are right can be deadly. However, I have heard of docs rxing sub and benzos at the same time. *Best* bet is to call your pharmacist. Many people seem to take both at the same time without problems, but be extremely careful and start with *small* doses.;)

No problemo. The .5 should be enough for you and should be pretty safe. However, at least hopefully have someone around in case something happens.

Hey Diablo. My doc prescribled clonidine with my suboxone. I have been taken 1 to 2 mgs a day when I feel anxious. I have been sleeping great. Also I did a check on wether there are any adverse reactions betweent eh teking of the 2 drugs together which you can do with any combinations of drugs at www.walgreens.com, and it said there are no adverse reactions to this combo. All the best, Andy
