You may do better on Suboxone than Subutex. Snorting will not get you off with Suboxone.

I know snorting the subs is a big deal here in the uk , especially in the jail. I guess you were originally prescribed them to get off the gear ? See your doctor mate and get a reduction plan together , i know of at least one person who died after snorting a g of sub , he died of a stroke in prison . I think you know what to do , good luck to you.

Ripple... i"m not 100% but i think you can only get suboxone privately here , the reason i say that is when i enquired i was hit with a blank stare off my counsellor who could"nt give me any answers to my q"S about the drug . If you know differently can you please correct me, thanks.

c"mon you can do it !

I dont know where your from malc but i'm in the UK and all the clinics I know of all prescribe the Suboxone now instead of Subutex, they started doing it about a year ago after hearing about the 'tex' being abused (i.e. snorted/banged).

And to Skydiver, i feel ya man, I snorted the Subs for a long time it can be a ***** of a habit to break. I don't feel as if I should give any advice out being that I'm still using and trying to start back on the subutex, but, the way I stopped the snorting thing back then was to get it back to once every 24 hour dosing, pref in the morning and just put it under your tongue in the morning and leave any others you have at home. You just have to say to yourself "once its wet I cant take it out" and just try really hard not to snort any. it's all part and parcel of addiction, snorting is ritual, preparing it for abuse, I always try my hardest to get out of the habit of that drug behaviour you know?

Have you tried getting some support through NA, I'm trying to go at the moment(was clean for almost a year) I'm just mullering myself at the moment. Can't seem to get on the sub. I have them im just scared to start them cos ive got a big ish h habit.

Anyways look after yourself, from one strugglin brutha to another.

I don't mean to come across as judgmental, but I think you should reconsider the snorting. The whole ritual, and the rebellious "I shouldn't be doing this" thing that so many of us get off on is all a part of the allure, and I think that you taking your sub in such a way is asking for trouble. I think it would be a great idea to attempt to break that cycle of use asap.

Best of luck, and stay strong. Most importantly, don't be afraid to ask for help!

I know the bio availability is doubled from 1/3 when taken sublingually to 2/3 when snorted. I did it for a while and yeah it was difficult to get back to taking it properly. Its almost impossible to taper sub when your snorting it, at least in my experience, so it would be a good idea to go back to sublingual. Start taking twice as much, sublingually, as you normally snort, and taper your dose back down from there. Peace...

If you are in a place where you are snorting sub then maybe you need an inpatient rehab.I am not coming from a cold hearted place but this is not okay. This is total addict behavior and I scared for you when you do jump off the sub. Please get a support system in place and give your sub to someone you can count on to watch you take it sublingualy.Sometimes we have to turn to others to help us and I hope you can break the habit of snorting the sub

Hey all thanks for the info and support you too girlinterupted, Going to Dr this week gonna try to back it down to 2's instead of 8mgs and start a taper like I did before. I was on the 2's for so long and it was weird all of a sudden asked the DR to script me 8's and he did, but I realize it's all up to me, so I'm just gonna go back to the 2's and drop it under the tongue like I have been for years now and hope to taper lower from there. Anyway thanks everybody your the Best !!!

Sadly, I too have snorted Suboxone. You're right, you do get more of it but it also makes the withdrawal 2 or 3 times as bad.

It took me a while to realize I wasn't sorting anything out in my life because I still had the same habits and was trying to get off. And I paid for it.

With regards to Subutex/ Suboxone prescribing in the UK, from my experience of it, when I was living in north Wales, they scripted Subutex as a matter of course, they'd try people on it before offering them methadone, in south Wales they prescribed Suboxone to people who didn't want to get on meth, in Chester, they put people onto Subutex when they get to less than 50ml a day of meth, or if you're doing less than a gram a day of gear, and here, in Herefordshire, they'll script you Subutex (no Suboxone), but only if you're doing less than a bag a day of gear, or as a further reduction when you get to less than 20ml a day of meth.

So, in conclusion, I think it varies depending on what part of the country you live in.
