I think I took pseudoephedrine (120 mg sudafed) when I had bad sinus congestion and pain. It worked, but it made me restless and jittery with heart palpitations and some depressed mood which pseudoephedrine does to me. Your mileage may vary.

What cold medicine did you have in mind?

    Mike Mike,

While on nothing, on sub, on short-acting opioids, i have taken mucinex that contains only guifenessin (600 mg) as well as mucinex that contains guifenesin (600 mg) and pseudoephedrine (60?). guifennesin is an expectorant. pseudoephedrine is a decongestant.

i hate pseudoephedrine-containing meds because of the jitters and mood swings.

both should be fine to take with sub but expect jitters/depression/etc from the pseudoepehdrine. unfortunately, for me nothing else works as a decongenstant except pseudoepehdrine. they have a new class of drugs without it, but i dunno have effective they are. the OTC packages all say 'contains no pseudoephedrine'.

I dunno about the other ones you mentioned.
