    Default Can Subutex Be Smoked????

I was having beakfast with a friend the other day and as we were drinking coffee, she took out a a 4mg subutex, rolled it into a cigareet and smoked it. i was flabergasted. First--this friend is a professional person in advertising. I had no idea she was on bup (maintanince.) She explained that due to slow metablalism, she found that by smoking the bup, she got the effect faster. She doses once a day. So is there any truth to her claim--and is it even safe to smoke subutex. Anyone know??

    TD,

Never heard of that but it doesn't surprise me. I won't be doing that any time soon. With that kind of thinking you might as well shoot smack.

TD....sub is intended to be used sublinqually. Anything else is exibiting addictive behaviors. Period.

You can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking that caused them in the first place.

What's the rush? No pun intended. If you are only dosing once a day, what difference does a couple of hours make? Like T says, might as well shoot it.

Either the metabolism is too slow....or too fast.

I have never met a junkie who didn't have an explanation for addictive behavior.

Speaking of excuses. Did you ever think maybe it's her quiting cigarettes program [?] It could'nt be a stop smoking aid...she's still smoking.[B)][^]

Maybe it's one of the new 'off label' scripts.[:I]

OK...I'll go lurk somewhere else now.

Gag! What will they think of next? Seriously though, i think the 'smokability' of something is determined by its melting & flash points and whether it is a base or not. Since this is a recovery site, there is no point discussing this further.

Do not smoke your buprenorphine, shove it in your ear, or put it in your car - either stay off or take as directed.

BTW, did you go back on it or did you manage to stay off? What happened that day when you had the cravings from hell?
