I tuned it in right when it was starting, pretty interesting. Two bio's: a cutter and a Vike head. Chronicled the events (and insanity) leading up to the actual intervention. I could relate to the Vike head, Panic-stricken waiting for the meds to show up, ripping the package open to get at her (looked like Norco) drugs to slam down and eliminate her concerns for hte day.

It was fair...but of course it depends on ones perspective. If I were in the throes of my addiction, it would've been more relevant.
The whole notion of an intervention, however, was well portrayed. Mic "It takes what it takes" |

JB-
I don't know about you, but I generally cop a mild resentment when I hear of/see stories of other addictions. I mean, aren't drugs and alcohol the ONLY addictions that can truly change how you feel? Yeah, I know, norepinephrine, dopamine, seratonin, yada, yada all affect us, like gambling or sex or video games? I am yet to find anything that takes me where I want to go, right here, right now. I know these other addictions cause a great deal of destructions, like drugs do, but I guess I just "don't get it". I'll tune it in to see what the other addiction is, thanks for the heads-up. gambling and substance abuse are a deadly mix . . . . it CANNOT be done in moderation . . . I'm convinced. |
