to greeneyez and everyone else on this thread, i am also interested in any potental class action against the makers and the FDA. i have never been one to look to the courts for resolution, and i am in favor of some of the tort reform being talked about by the politicians, but the FDA lately has just looked the other way while the pharmacutical companies have bankrolled studies for them in prusuit of the new wonder drugs and new patients to improve thier bototm line. as a markting student in college, i got a glimpse at some of thier marketing practices and was shocked by them.
also, have any of you checked suboxone.com over the last year??? i noticed a few months ago that all of the info about the "3 periods" ie. induction, stabilization, and maintenance has disapeared, i have a feeling this is because they now know that maiantance is not a good idea due to the highly addictive nature of bupe. the old info is still out there on a few old news sites, and ive have seen a few that now replace maintance with detoxification in which a taper is spoken of, but not on the offical site. i would also like to see what exactly their 8 hour qualification course consits of and how much of the content was supplied by the manufacter.
anyone who watches tv knows the drug companies now have a supposed soluion to every porblem imaginable, marketed in a feel good way...thank god the fda makes them list the side effects which more often than not sound more unpleasent then the orginal problem. the way that i have seen these stocks talked about on finacilal shows on tv is also disturbing, talk of patents running out and that they need to come up with something new to boost the bottom line and urging people sell right before a generic comes to market.
i was poking around a few weeks ago and found this by accident,

im sure theres much more on this out there but it just gives you a glimpse into the minds of big business and the pharm. companies when it comes to peoples health over the almighty dollar.
